Hi all,
in Italy you can find plenty of DR professionals not only me or BlackST, you have a big choice.
If you want to try the DIY remember also what CK told you about diffculties and then decide what you you want to do; i don't like to help in DIY because i get bored working on drives after the end user tried to recover and made DR impossible making me waste my time.
So if data is not so important you can make all the experiments but if content worth to pay a professional think about.
Bye
Luca

The code you are referring to is effectively irrelevant to recovering your data

Finally! :D

if you are unhappy about spending $40, then perhaps your data is not valuable

Ok, i want spend 40 euro or more, what i have to buy?

You will need to transfer IC602 from your original board to your donor PCB.

Thanks but now you say me i can buy another identic PCB and make the transfer, others say me that is useless buy another PCB cuz toshiba has unique data in each drive....... So?

A simple SMT rework station

What's this SMT?

To get your data, you need:

1) Replacement PCB
2) Transfer MCU to new board

The MCU is a BGA chip and requires specialised equipment to remove and replace.

What we were saying previously was that a simple PCB swap would not work, hence the advice not to buy it.

SMT/SMD = Surface Mount Components

IC602 is a DIP, not BGA. A simple SMT rework station, or even a temperature controlled soldering iron, will do the job.

So this is a wrong? Is a DIP or BGA?

@ BlackST, sarebbe un vero piacere se mi rispondessi ai PM, se c'è qualche problema o semplicemente non vuoi per qualche tuo motivo, dimmelo, io sono qui

See this thread:

... and this one:

The OP did not need to transfer the MCU, only IC602. Take the PCB to your TV repair shop.

It should be written on the board, next to the chip.

on the temperature note, what temp or wattage do you recommend for Transferring the IC602 Chip?

Now, for the transfer i must do this:

I can buy another PCB quietly on ebay, but the component "IC602" is equal on all Toshiba PCB ALWAY belonging to the same model?

Thanks.
