Hi,

Try "Nucleus Kernel for FAT and NTFS" or "GetDataBack"

Good luck

If your son just deleted the files and didn't write anything on it, chances are high that you'll be able to recover the files. You may try to use R-Undelete. The article So, what do you have to do to get deleted files back? explains how. With one difference - as this is an external disk, you can install R-Undelete on your system disk. Also worth noting is that R-Undelete gives you the "try before buy" approach, so you can estimate chances for successful file recovery for free.

Hi, are you sure the files were deleted by your son as it is also possible for the drive/caddy to develop a fault?

You could try any of the above though I would suggest to run Dmde on the drive. Download it to and run from your desktop. In the menu select the drive and scan for a partition. Then post back with your results.
