Hi
I have got an Fujitsu 120GB 2.5" IDE hard drive. Model Number: MHT2120AT. The hard drive 5 volts got connected to 12 Volts and an IC on the PCB has Blown. Does anyone know what the IC is and can I replace it?

The IC is next to the coil and is an 8 pin IC - I think it is an voltage regulator???

I have attach an image of the PCB

Also there is an short between the 5volts to GNd

thanks

Check TVS or replace the entire PCB with matched one and transfer the original ROM to the donor PCB.

Good luck
