 Post subject: WD passport essential problem

Hello everyone,
I have WD passport essential 500gb USB 3.0, When I plug the USB cable in my laptop even any pc the light comes on and Windows recognizes that the device is there, and says that it has installed the approapriate software for the device and it is ready to use meanwhile its searching driver to installing. after sometimes its showing in my computer as CD Drive (F:). Also, I have right-clicked on my computer and then the Manage option, and under Disk Management but this page is not opening only after disconnect the usb cable its showing disk drive page.

for your information i have attached some necessary screen shot... I just need some help on how to solve this problem.

File comment: when i try to open disk managment its showing in the bottom... connecting to Virtual disk services... and standby like this only but after disconnect the usb cable this page opening immediately.

hi,
what kind of sounds do you hear when you plug in the disk?
the motor stay on or after a while spin down?

I think your drive may be failing, so if your data is valuable I wouldn't much things with it and consider going to a pro to get a proper diagnosis and quote.

Anyway, might help answering to the questions above.
