Most likely preamp is dead as well.
Also can be a motor coil break - we have seen one such drive here.

Where was the fault on the original PCB? Was the 5V TVS diode shorted?

That's good.

Yeah, best is to start eliminating things one by one, starting with simplest.
Besides PCB, preamp may be a problem as well. Check for residue on the media from it should it have blown. Because cleaning after is not fun.

I test de PCB. i think not Diodes in this case.

I think tehre are 4 fuses. i atach pic (not real pic. googled pic)

in case of fuses they are not shorted
measure is: 0.001 Ohm

The motor windings should measure around 1 ohm, maybe less. The zero ohm resistors should measure 0 ohms. You should be using the 200 ohms scale for your measurements.

Did you check whether preamp is good?
Motor coils is possible, but definitely more exotic diagnosis.

Thanks fzabkar!

I used a very simpler scaler, maybe is not very accurate

OK, for some reason you notice the last sentence only :) Disregard the idea about motor coils.
Check the preamp.

Hi guys.

i test inside HDA, no dust on platers and no dust on filter.

I replaced Heads with donnors ones, the drive cames DRY and i have acess to user area.
Now i am trying to clone HDD with DE, but the problem is thath every 10.000 secs read i get 8 secs imposible to read, and every 5 minutes the drive stops, i need manually start another time, and continue:

every 10.000 secs read i get 8 secs imposible to read.
then every 5 minutes the drive stops.
and i need manually start another time.

every 10.000 secs read i get 8 secs imposible to read.
then every 5 minutes the drive stops.
and i need manually start another time.

every 10.000 secs read i get 8 secs imposible to read.
then every 5 minutes the drive stops.
and i need manually start another time.

and so on

any idea?
