Hi,

As far as I remember Igor (my colleague) found a solution for FW lock problem for most of WD/HGST drives.
Drop PM or send request to igor@d3consultyou.com.

I have a similar situation.
Have a FW locked HDD and want to REGENERATE Translator.
Any help is appreciated.

These drives have factory locked SA access.
Therefore you can't perform any SA related actions like clearing Relo or Regen translator etc.

There is, however, a way to gain SA access and decrypt on-the-fly.

With SA Region Editing i could get access to SA and was able to save all the Modules as well.
All modules are OKAY except for Relo.
Moment i load the Loader it locks the SA and w/o loader i am not able to edit any Mods to CLEAR Relo.

Do you get 0x4F10 at init ?
Then maybe the solution in ace`s knowledgebase is working.

Yes it gives 0x4F10 at init in ver 5.8 and in UDMA 5.9 it says "SED DRIVE LOCKED"
If i am not mistaken ACE Knowledge base does not have a solution to it yet.
If i have missed it would be glad if someone points it out.
Thanks

Not just firebird, have seen "some" FBlite as well. Unable to check SA.

Right.
Faulty heads were the reason for Relo not getting cleared.
Head Replaced resolved.
Thanks all for Support.
