Hello all,

My reason to join the forum is because I need help with recovery my data of my external HDD.

The last days was terrible on my life and I will tell about it.
I did system recovery with ONEKEYRECOVERY to return to windows 8.1 OS because of personal reasons. Then, I downloaded Acronis 2015 (previous version was 2014) and I wanted to move my image of virtual box with read&write mode but I couldn't have so I saw a forum and they used DISKPART software and ran "Clean" command which I didn't understand initially. Then I got stress and I saw my device removed from my computer so I went to Disk Management with hope to do something and by mistake I didn't read and selected GPT.

Finally, I am trying Photorec software and it couldn't get me the full image of my TIB image backup of acronis.

With hope how can I recover my TIB image that is in my HDD?

PS: It's ADATA external HDD 1TB

Best Regards,

Mystic

I can offer $ 25.00 btc if you help me to recover the file.

I lost my wallet password that is in the .tib file

The same file was in my HDD but I did system recovery and I am afraid I lost it.

Greetings,

Mystic

I would start by cloning the drive, sector by sector, and then examine the clone with a disc editor. Can you show us the Partitions window in DMDE?

http://dmde.com

I'm assuming you typed "clean" rather than "clean all". AIUI, the latter command will write zeros to every sector.

Hopefully you didn't format your drive.

Hello fzabkar,

Thanks for the fast response.

Can you suggest me a program to clone the drive, sector by sector in linux or windows?
Why should I do clone rather than image hdd?

Greetings,

Mystic

You can use DMDE under windows or (personally I prefer) ddrescue under linux

In DMDE, select Mode -> Hexadecimal/Text, then drag your mouse down the vertical scrollbar. Do you see data or just a bunch of zeros?

If you see data, then select Tools -> NTFS Search. Hopefully you will find a file system at around the 3GB point.

The difference between an image and a clone is one of semantics. I think of cloning as making a one-to-one copy of a physical drive, and I think of imaging, at least in your case, as copying the contents of a drive or a partition to an image file. This image file may be compressed. Some people use the two terms interchangeably, depending on the context.

Is a pleasure to help, if you are looking for more storage space for free you should consider MEGA.NZ (50GB free)
