I've got a Toshiba HDD Model: MQ01UBD100 that recently stopped working. Here's the breakdown:

LEDs don't light up on drive
PC does not recognize drive in any fashion
Hard drive spins. No clicking or other concerning sounds.

Here are the PCB images:

I looked through other forums and found broken, disjointed answers that didn't confirm what worked and what didn't.

If y'all could help me find the quickest way (that doesn't involve a DR Specialist) to recover the data on this drive, I would greatly appreciate it.

If it matters, I have no issues with moving/replacing chips or using solder.

Thanks,

JP

Obtain G003235B or G003235C SATA PCB and move the IC602 (WinBond) chip.

Is that a burn spot on the VLI bridge IC?

Was there any soldering activity near the USB connector???

Totally agree - signs of flux around USB header too. Best just order a board.

Any difference between the two that matters or is it more that there's more than one compatible PCB?

IC602 is the one you need to move or copy. Be very careful -- if you damage this IC, nobody will be able to recover it for you.
