Hello, did anyone find a compatible heads for ST4000DM005 in any other model? I had only one donor. Used it already and all the DM005 i find seem to be to far with DOM or SN to give them a try. As they are new, there is no other way other than to purchase and check. But maybe someone used other heads?

hello could you find alternative donor for this model? im having problem to find a DONOR for the st4000dm005. i found a donor very closer but the serial is too different

. im damn confused..... may i ask Sir? how did you managed to find the right DONOR? should i match all the pn serial date and site ???

The only thing that matters is preamp and i think they all have the same. But check.

you mean even different date and site and serial if the preamp is the same ,heads may works without problem?

Yes. The only reason why people check PN,SN,date,code is to get the same preamp. At least that's my opinion.

thank you lcoughey Sir. means even different model for example st4000dm004 with my patient ST4000dm005 can be used if the preamp and headmap is the same?

guys i still dont know how to find the preamp with pc-3000................. CTRL+L doesnt work.

hello guys is there a way to find out the preamp from the ROM file when the head died??
i cant find this feature with the latest pc-3000 update .......

You can do it from ROM dump and using Hex Editor. Works for all F3 drives except Rosewood.

Sir is the V9 a rosewood? my utility seems different from the one on the link you sent me. i dont have PS Physical Heads map button
