Hi ,
The Disk in Question is Seagate ST500DM009 , With PCB Number 100774000 Rev D . Hard drive was water logged ,so PCB likely could be a issue ,Specially that thermister error in terminal "But i am not sure " , The EPROM No was " 25Q00811 " Looks like micron to me .I did take a backup of the content in My EPROM programmer , Plugging it To PC3K i get the following terminal .Thermistor error might not be a error i do not have donors for this drive "But arranging " .

Boot 0x20M
SpinUp

Rst 0x20M Thermistor Temp 0018

LED:0x000000EE FAddr:0x003211FC

LED:0x000000EE FAddr:0x003211FC

Cannot access terminal as only for a very brief period it responds to CTRL+Z and then the LED:0x000000EE FAddr:0x003211FC Error pops up . Does anyone have idea which are the short points for read channel ,i have identified 3 locations on board but i am not sure . I was thinking i will try virtual boot of MRT ,The problem is that MRT takes a default of 512KB ROM size which is wrong ,But you can force it to read 1024KB ,But the problem is in the virtual load Menu it does not let you select a rom size for programming . I am attaching original ROM in this post .Kindly rename ROM to .bin extension after you download it to your PC

PS : This is ST1000DM010 Though PCB is Same ,The the thermister error seems to be ruled out

I think "Thermistor Temp 0018" is just reporting the temperature inside the HDA, namely 24C (= 0x18).

The actual content of your ROM ends at 0x7F210. The second half of the ROM ("extra space") appears to contain "noise". This "noise" includes a full backup of the RAP and a partial backup of the SAP.

BTW, why can't you just ZIP your file? :-?

Hi,
I will keep your suggestion in mind next time ,What do you think about this case ,Parsing Sys file 93 shows that this drive does not have media cache ,I used PC3K Ver 7.0 . I was able to get Terminal Access using MRT Virtual Boot/Start ,But No Sector Access , Although Drive is 1 Platter + 2 Heads i think only 1 head is used .

F3RomExplorer reports that the drive has 1 head.

There should have been from platter.
But it did not read. And there is garbage in RAM.

There is no any garbage in RAM. Just 40 (3_1d2) is unreadable and that's it.
