Im new here, so first Hello and thanks for a great site!

I have a Toshiba notebook, Satellite 5205 (old now at 3 years, best feature swappable second hdd). Want to replace drive 0 with a new Fujitsu MHT2060AH.

Strange thing is that the drive is not seen by Tosh. I have 2 other drives of the same type, and get the same result. Testing with an sata adapter on a desktop = no problems.

I can't get into the Toshiba BIOS, and even if I could I understand that "some older notebooks" burn the drive list into some cmos-like chip. So Im a nOOb - hay, I write user code -- as far as I know the only difference between my computer and a coffee maker is one has a keyboard!!

Any ideas? The drive I am replacing is a Toshiba MK6022GAX badly damaged in a fall... actually down a flight of stairs.

Thanks - CodeToad

Hmm, check the master/slave/CS jumper.

The four little pins next to the main 44-way connector.

Some notebooks require drives to be set as Master, whereas some want CS.
