Hi I am operating samsung hard disk and read SA but unable to identify problem area .Data Extractor is not working for this hdd.

I have samsung sv4002h Hard disk drive.
Not coming readiness in the original controller. I have same type of donor controller. Using donor controller it gives readiness, but at the soft reset it give busy with drd and dsc.

and gives Technological ID - Data waiting time out.
Data waiting timeout error comes in the every module read.

I have tried of 3-4 same type card. but same errors come.

Data is important.

@thinclient, check the ROM content. Also, make sure for head working. Have you checked terminal ?

I have changed the Rom Ic at491024 from original to donor controller.

Now Terminal shows
UCalib done
Eng>

soft reset is ok
Hard reset is ok
but rom read or module read not possible every time hdd response time out. no hdde readiness type messages are coming.

I just had the same drive, SP0411N, with exactly the same symptoms as the OP.

Drive came DRDY after maybe 30 seconds, and all modules OK. No user data though.

Swapped the platter into new chassis (with good head, as the head was underneath the platter, so easier to swap the platter).

Now the drive is imaging well, nice and fast.

So, must have been a weak head.
