So I guess what this means is that it only takes Salvation about an hour or two to reverse engineer the latest PC3000 update when it hits their update box?

ACE was the pioneer in providing professional data recovery equipments, and their products are cool. We truely respect these facts, but that does not mean every newcomer has the only way to "COPY" from them. Each time when we release an upgrade, there are always sounds like "WOW, they copy that from ACE"; even when we were the first one who released the NVRAM repair feature, when we actually support more comprehensive drive families, or this time, when we actually released upgrade before them.
If you are interested in knowing details about how our upgrade actually comes from, I suggest you visit our Chinese home page at
http://www.xlysoft.net/news/200809/13.htm by using a web translator. SalvationDATA started their beta test for Barracuda 7200.11 on 13-September, and released the solution after two months of improvement, not by "reverse engineer" someone else's product in one or two hours.
So far as I know, ACE has not released their upgrade yet, so in fact we have no chance to "reverse engineer" their product. This time ACE will release their solution after us, but that DOES NOT mean (and we won't even think about it) they "reverse engineer" our product, and we will truly respect their efforts in working out the solution. Maybe you don't like SalvationDATA and our products, but I think at least you should learn to respect the efforts made by others even your enemy.
Regards
Laura
