The manual is in the install folder. I'm reading it right now.

That's exciting. Has ACE released their solution yet? Did salvation actually beat them to something???

So I guess what this means is that it only takes Salvation about an hour or two to reverse engineer the latest PC3000 update when it hits their update box? :D

Hello Guru,
Please check this link.
official-version-doctor-utility-for-seagate-7200-t10563.html

It seems you have to "EAT my clean room hat" this time.

What a waste of time that was.

Downloaded the update and installed.

Connected up a 7200.11 and entered the utility and selected the new 7200.11 family.

There are new features for "Not coming Ready, LBA 0 and Smart error" fixes.

"Great" I think, finally I can fix this 7200.11 with LED CC error.

Select the "Not coming Ready" feature and all I get is "refer to manual for instructions", and you guessed it....No manual available.

You can find it in the user manual folder under your installation path and the file name is "Data Recovery from 0 GB Barracuda 7200.11.pdf". However,to help you find it easily, we also list it on our forum. You can go to download it.

Regards

Laura

ACE was the pioneer in providing professional data recovery equipments, and their products are cool. We truely respect these facts, but that does not mean every newcomer has the only way to "COPY" from them. Each time when we release an upgrade, there are always sounds like "WOW, they copy that from ACE"; even when we were the first one who released the NVRAM repair feature, when we actually support more comprehensive drive families, or this time, when we actually released upgrade before them.

If you are interested in knowing details about how our upgrade actually comes from, I suggest you visit our Chinese home page at http://www.xlysoft.net/news/200809/13.htm by using a web translator. SalvationDATA started their beta test for Barracuda 7200.11 on 13-September, and released the solution after two months of improvement, not by "reverse engineer" someone else's product in one or two hours.

So far as I know, ACE has not released their upgrade yet, so in fact we have no chance to "reverse engineer" their product. This time ACE will release their solution after us, but that DOES NOT mean (and we won't even think about it) they "reverse engineer" our product, and we will truly respect their efforts in working out the solution. Maybe you don't like SalvationDATA and our products, but I think at least you should learn to respect the efforts made by others even your enemy.

Regards

Laura

yum yum.. Ok but the 7200.11 was an easy repair if true :O)

I think the WD ROYL selftest was ripped from Acelab because it is real R&D to do this

Update:

I used the new Salvation instructions to make my drive come "Ready"

(These were simple Terminal Commands, and involved removing the PCB etc)

But the "LED CC" error remains :-(

They cannot solve this issue at the moment.

Hi Pcimage,

If someone eat his cleanroom hat before us and we watch his eating with our own eyes, then we will release the solution to LED CC error. :D

Our engineers are trying to rip "this invisible feature" off ACE product.

So, let's open our eyes wide and see. SalvationDATA, Play magic now.

Only to Beta Testers though. I do not think Laura is a beta tester :D

by the way, how is the acelab update? I assume you are a beta tester.

It seems like its a big coincedence, but they both released it on a same day and there is no way they could have copy it one off another.
I am not a beta tester.
Acelab was working on this issue for a while now and it works well.

There was a solution way before SD or Acelab comeout with update.

On another hand, don't you love to see a competition going on?
