Does anyone head compatibility in WD800JD sabre 58 (unicorn) is compatible with sabre 53 ?

Patient WD800JD sabre58 (Unicorn is SATA) and the donor is WD800JB?

According to ACElab developer matching DCM is a myth, it is a conflicting to what i have experienced and seen on this forum that DCM is important when doing head exchange.

Thank you for any feedbacks.

TerraNova:

I have to agree with some of statement from ACE

DCM is a myth, for some models but it's a guide for us to deal with some other models.

Maybe we can change experience through PM.

TerraNova,

WD are very capricious drives and there are many requirements for a Head Swap. Actually main requirements is a same family, same head map and same factory (country-developer). But sometimes it's not enough and donor heads don't work...
I can suggest you to find Unicorn donor, it saves your money and time.
About DCM it's really myth. I have never use it when I look for a donor.

I did head swap of different families in WD but they were pretty close in date, and PCB was similar too. I cannot remember the families unfortunately...
