Hello, first of all i'm sorry for my english, i'm from Spain.
I 've a Maxtor 120 Gb model 6Y120L0 firmware YAR41VW0.
I had problems with the disc, there wasn't power in the hdd and i changed the PCB. I bought it in www.onepcbsolution.com and i think the PCB is ok and now the hdd is running but the hdd doesn't work, the PC doesn't recognize the hdd. I think i 've to change the head ¿?.
Now i'm looking for to buy a new hdd for change the head just in case this is the problem.

My quiestion is:

If i buy a Maxtor with the same model 6Y120L0 but the firmware is YAR41BW0 the head's are the same and the hdd will run ok or i 've to buy exactly the hdd with the firmware YAR41VW0.

Thanks

i don't know how i can add the photos in the message but I think is the same PCB, is for the same model, firmware and the chip of the PCB is the same. In the web they ask me every data about the PCB. The PCB is exactly the same.

Please help me.

Disk might have internal problems as it has a lot of internal "programs" which could have been corrupted due to PCB failure or some other factors.

Buy a PC3000 and pay someone to explain you how firmware works, if it is the firmware.
