Hi everybody!

I think I've tried everything with this hdd, is a ST3500620AS with HP12 firmware.
I've tried with PC3000 the "HDD Lock (LED: 000000CC)" solution but is not working.
I've tried with commands in the terminal:
CTRL + Z
F3 2>Z
F3 2>U
F3 T3>/1
F3 1>N1
F3 1>/
F3 T>m0,2,2,0,0,0,0,22 Si no se queda en estado busy

With everything that I did apear with error:

Error 1008 DETSEC 0000500E Process Defect List Error

Somebody can help me?

Send it to a pro.

The problem you have is that the drive does not respond to standard techniques for accessing terminal mode. You need someone that knows how to do this.

If you are in Madrid, you could PM dmarques who posts here regularly.

That's why I asked this question. I've tried also changing the pcb and also hot swap. So ... do u know this not standard techniques for accesing to terminal mode? If u dont know, let's others to try to answer my question.

Thanks!

I do know. I can fix these, as can dmarques. it is the method used to get the drive into terminal mode. the usual trick does not work the the HP, ES, DE and many other revisions of these drives.

If others do know and want to tell you, they will do so :)

Ok, I will explain you, what exactly what i did:
1- The hdd is totally without ID HDD and without real capacity ,49MB (1 000)
2- If I put the "translation violation (0MB)" solution, then It's found the ID HDD, ST3500620AS, serial 9QM5LG8Z and firmware HP12; but capacity ()MB.
3- Then, If try the "translation violation (0MB)" solution is not working and also is not working the LED: 0000CC solution.
4- I tried the short-circuit solution of PC3K manual, but not working to unblocked the terminal, so I unbloked doing LED: 0000CC solution and press CTRL+Z
5- and then the code that I told you

I have two hdd ST3500620AS, P/N 9BX144-021 with error in the firmware 7200.11 HP12.

Both of them I can solve the ID, but in one of them I have an error in the Spin up, so I think the problem is the hdd motor. In the other the problem is the capacity "()MB" is shown. I could solved problem like that in many of hdd with this firmware with the pc3000, HP24, SD15, DELL...
I can't understand why in this one I have many problems to solve.

Thanks!
